VIDEO EDITOR & MOTION GRAPHICS DESIGNER

The Company

Mission Studios is a production company that makes television ads and digital video for political media. We’re looking for an experienced editor and motion graphics designer with a passion for creative work and at least some interest in Democratic and/or progressive politics.

We are a small shop doing high-profile work. You can see our general portfolio here and our motion graphics reel here. This is just a taste of the work we do. We’re always looking to up our game and explore new styles in order to elevate our work.

The Skills

As editor and motion graphics designer, you will shape the visual identity of an ad from start to finish. This includes everything from storyboards to the final render.

Much of our work requires text-heavy, information-delivering graphics, as well as creative editing in a variety of techniques — oftentimes all in one project. A background in broadcast design or news graphics is often a great fit.

You do not have to have a background in politics, though it does help. More than anything, you should have the chops, the focus, the desire to create high-quality work in a fast-moving production workflow, and all with a can-do attitude.

The Requirements

We are looking for someone in the Washington D.C. area, to work in a hybrid/flex environment that will include some office time. You must be authorized to work in the United States. This is a full-time position but we are definitely open to other arrangements, such as freelance and longer-term contract options.

Full-time includes a full benefits package, including health, dental, vision and a 401(k)-style retirement plan.
